Intro
For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (m/f/d). 
In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the commercialization of groundbreaking technology. We are developing a method for manufacturing silicon wafers for the photovoltaic industry that requires significantly fewer process steps compared to conventional methods, thereby reducing production costs, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions. 
In this position, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of electronic components to advance our technology further. You will work closely with our experienced team of engineers, contributing to enhancing the efficiency and performance of our silicon wafers. Your Mission
  • Lead the installation of new equipment supplied by external manufacturers.
  • Participate in assembling in-house developed equipment and specialized tools.
  • Provide technical feedback to improve future equipment designs.
  • Ensure pilot production equipment remains in optimal working condition.
  • Analyze existing processes and contribute to improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Support recruitment, training, and onboarding activities.
  • Promote a safe and positive work environment.
  • Perform load calculations and size electrical components, including cables, breakers, and switches.
Your profile
  • Completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an electrical engineer or 4+ years of experience in commercial projects (preferably in chemical, semiconductor, or machine-building industries).
  • Strong technical expertise and up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Familiarity with high-current circuits, transformers, and interconnects (desirable).
  • Ability to design and analyze analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with Electrical CAD software or similar tools.
  • Work experience in the EU and knowledge of relevant norms and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in English; German language skills are a plus.
