Intro

For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we at NexWafe are looking for a Working Student (m/f/d) for 20 hours per week in our Future Technology department.

At NexWafe, we are developing a pioneering process to produce silicon wafers with fewer process steps, resulting in significant savings in production costs, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. As a Working Student you will support the Future Technology team in the research and development of novel laser cutting processes by performing detailed characterization of laser-processed silicon wafers. You will also support other teams with various characterization tasks.

Your Mission

• Documentation support for experiments
• Surface characterization of laser processed silicon wafers
• Roughness measurements on silicon wafers
• Thickness measurements on silicon wafers for laser experiments
• Data analysis support for laser cutting experiments

Your profile

• Technical or scientific background (Physics, Chemistry, Renewable Energy Studies, Material Science & Related)
• Solid basic computer skills, MS Office
• Hands-on research experience (Practical experience in the lab)
• Self-motivated and a good team player
• Clear communication in English and preferably good communication skills in German
• Interested in learning more about novel wafer processing technologies, solar cells, silicon, scientific experimentation and project management
• Experience in wafer handling is a plus
