For our location in Freiburg in Breisgau, we are looking for an Engineer (m/f/d) - Characterisation.

Your Mission
  • Manage characterisation tools:

Provide training to operators and engineers

Ensure uptime and ease of use

Troubleshoot issues as they arise

  • Develop and improve data analysis routines for characterisation data of Epiwafers and intermediate products
  • Coordinate wafer analysis activities at external laboratories, including:

Sample selection

Data analysis

Internal and external communication

  • Research and implement new characterisation techniques that deliver added value, cost savings, or faster turnaround
  • Plan, execute, and analyse internal characterisation tasks
  • Monitor and control wafer characterisation data
  • Prepare regular technical reports on internal and external characterisation results
  • Support engineering teams in data-driven decision-making
Your profile
  • Degree in science or engineering (physics, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of and experience with characterisation methods commonly used in the semiconductor industry is required.

  • Good skills in data visualisation.

  • Material knowledge of silicon is desired.

  • Thorough and structured work approach.

  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.

  • Industrial experience a plus.

  • Experience in handling wafers is beneficial.

  • General laboratory experience is preferred.

  • Silicon photovoltaic experience is a plus.
